About R&D Contracting

Welcome to ICF Concrete Homes ICF Concrete Homes Portfolio About R&D About ICF’s Links

ICF Concrete Homes is a division of R&D Contracting. ICF blocks were

patented in the late 1960’s, but had shown little penetration in the

northeast. In 1996, we perceived a growing demand for cost effective,

versatile, and energy efficient.buildings, and began to specialize in ICF

installations. Since then, we have installed over 200,000 square feet in

New England.

Our operation has two distinct divisions, one panel crew to form and pour

conventional foundations and a second for ICF work. Our ICF division has

several projects either completed or underway, in MA, CT, RI, and NY. Our

commercial projects are as small as a  Dunkin Donuts to as large as a

multi-story, 15,000 square-foot retail / office mixed-use building. Our

residential portfolio includes unique custom and single family, energy

efficient homes. Our customers all have one thing in common—the use of

proven technology to reduce monthly energy costs, and to create

environmentally-friendly, versatile living and working spaces.

Our ICF crew includes licensed supervisors, carpenters, and a certified

welder. We install several different floor types, including steel bar joists,

engineered lumber and dimensional systems. Due to direct job site

shipment of the ICFs, we are able to cover a two-hundred mile radius

around central Massachusetts.

We have a 2400 square-foot facility that serves as a prefabrication shop

and warehouse. A fleet of ten vehicles, an all-terrain high-lift fork lift and

portable welders enable us to address customer needs efficiently. We have

the bracing and alignment equipment required to properly install ICFs.

Above all we have the experience to do the job right the first time, in a

timely, professional manner.

If you are an architect, builder or homeowner researching ICFs, our links

page provides further information. Please review our portfolio to see some

of our ongoing and completed projects. We welcome the opportunity to

discuss your plans to modify or utilize ICFs in your next project. A list of

customer references is available upon request.
